Dinner with Bill and Flo

Bill and Flo are people real. Apart from the occasional note-droppings in my C-box, the rare sms-es and the rarer still phone calls, Bill and Flo do exists. Yes, Bill and Flo do e-mails too, and according to custom, that too is rare. But things rare can sometimes be, well, precious.

It is like having Dominos again even though you have memorized all flavours on the 3-fold menu in name, taste and smell, or taking 2 trains to Midvalley in sardin-packed carriages after a grueling day at work.

It is like sacrificing precious time off a thesis, shedding off the Shakespearean accent and tuning back to coloqial Manglish, and afterwards having to find lodging in a friend's home before journeying back the next day.

It is like braving the Federal Jam at 7pm in an air-conditioned car with Dino Lipatti's recording on, time-keeping to be able to greet the seasons of Winter and Fall.

It is, abstract.

It is, rare.

It is, precious.

It was a great night with friends from i-bridge 2 years ago. We picked up from the time Flo was to write Bill's 'Thank you' speech. Now we are going to have an album. Then there were church pastors against members visiting other churches, functions or even attending Christian conferences. There was gate crashing too, oh poor maid and dog! Haha! Then there is i-bridge 2008. There was also mutual funds and an ingenious way to manufacture an album in a week. Dominos is inspirational, like the title of an album. And a combination of 3 different flavours leaves great ideas lingering on ice-lemonade-chilled tongues.

As Carole King sang,

Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
Ain't it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.

Where now is summer? Haha!

Thanks, Bill and Flo! :)
